Fun Fall Activities for the Whole Family

Just because summer has ended doesn’t mean that all the fun has to vanish along with it! Fall has officially begun and there’s no better time to enjoy the season’s activities with your family. Autumn provides plenty of events to partake in, places to go, and things to see that will keep the fun rolling for your family even when the weather cools down. Here’s six fun fall activities the whole family will love:

1.Apple Picking

Bring your family to an orchard and spend the day picking all the apples you could possibly eat! This activity brings the family together for some bonding time, while also allowing you to pick up some delicious, healthy snacks. Best of all, your child will love the ability to pick their own apples and will feel great about themselves in doing so.

2. Playing in the Leaves

When leaves fall off the trees in your yard, it can be quite a nuisance to clean up. Turning this clean-up process into a fun family activity will surely make the task a lot easier. For whatever reason, kids love playing with and jumping in big piles of leaves. The only way to make the pile however is to rake them up first! This fall activity will not only provide a fun play time for your child, but will also instill some discipline in them as they help you with some yard work.

3. Pumpkin Picking/Carving

Similar to apple picking, visiting a pumpkin patch can provide a full day of outdoor fun for your family. Let your kid find their favorite pumpkin to pick and bring home with them. Once you get home, the fun can continue as you all work together to carve a funny face or cool image into the new pumpkin.

4. Movie Night

Looking for a more relaxing activity with your family? Why not just stay inside, find a good movie, and enjoy some yummy snacks. Find a movie the whole family will be interested in, pop some popcorn and enjoy the night together.

5. Host a Tailgate Party

Throw a kid-friendly tailgate event in your driveway and invite your friends and family. Start a small fire to keep everyone warm and to allow the kids to roast marshmallows and make s’mores. If you’re looking to keep the party going, find a local football game and bring your fall activity full circle!

6. Hiking and Biking

Going on a hiking/biking adventure is great for the family for many reasons. Hiking and biking both serve as fun ideas to incorporate fitness into your lives and develop a healthy habit for your child. This adventure will also give you the opportunity to experience the beauty of the changing leaves and fall foliage.

Cindy, a Texas girl, put herself through college working at a children’s library and sewing at night. When she met her husband and had her two boys, she decided to stay home to care for them while designing window treatments and bedding.

When Cindy’s first son was learning to sit up, he would always fall through the pillows she set around him, hit his head, and cry. Besides, setting her child down on the hardwood floors on just a blanket always seemed so cold. Using her years of sewing and design skills, Cindy took inspiration from a woman in her breastfeeding class and got to work. With some scrap fabric and a few tweaks, pello was born! pello is a luxe floor pillow that helps children feel safe, warm and protected.
